As Chief Executive Officer of Synapse, Mr. Shere is primarily responsible for Synapse’s relationships with strategic partners and for creating custom value packages for each partner’s premium customers. He has over 12 years of experience in strategy consulting and new business development. He was most recently a Vice President of Strategy & Business Development at American Express, serving there for eight years. He recently led the teams that conceived, created and implemented several innovative new real estate-related programs.

Mr. Shere received a masters degree in Statistics and Operations Research from Princeton University and holds a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Manitoba.

Mr. Shere is also an occasional professional comedian.

Stephen Lefkovits
President

Mr. Lefkovits is Synapse’s real estate point person.  He is primarily responsible for sourcing and evaluating high-quality, unique real estate offerings in the U.S and internationally.  Mr. Lefkovits served as the principal strategy consultant to American Express for its REMS program, and is a noted real estate strategy consultant.  Formerly a Senior Vice President of BRE Properties, Inc. in San Francisco and a Vice President of the National Multi Housing Council, Mr. Lefkovits is a well-known commercial real estate veteran with extensive contacts throughout the industry.

Mr. Lefkovits has a Master’s Degree in Public Policy from Princeton University (M.P.P.) and a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics (B.A.) from Yale University.

Mr. Lefkovits is also an occasional professional landscape and nature photographer.
